Your fundraising appeals, newsletters, and email marketing—done for you.

Grow your revenue and keep more of your donors—with a team of fundraisers working with you.

If your organization earns $1m to $5m in annual donation revenue, let our team handle your fundraising communications so you can focus on doing the things only you can do: building human, personal, 1:1 relationships with your donors.

Does this sound familiar?

You’re at a small-to-medium sized non-profit, and you know your fundraising appeals, newsletters, and email marketing could be better.

You know they could likely be performing better.

You know you should be communicating with donors more frequently.

You know the donors you already have on file could likely be giving a lot more… if only they felt more involved. More valued. More updated. More cared for.

And you know that making your donors feel like an important part of the team—by listening, engaging, asking, celebrating, and reporting—will help you raise more money.

But your team is maxed out.

If they’re also tasked with creating effective appeals and newsletters, plus staying on top of email marketing and proven digital strategies…

…how will they have time to steward donors personally and build meaningful relationships?

After all, you can’t outsource personal relationships. They’re the #1 biggest asset your organization has.

The last thing you want is to ignore—and disappoint—donors.

But you’re feeling stuck. You know what you should do. But you just don't have the capacity to do it all.

  • You work hard to attract new donors, but struggle to keep them

  • You need to increase revenue, but don’t have fundraising expertise in-house

  • You need your appeals, emails, and newsletters to perform better, but you’re not sure how

  • You want to grow, but struggle to build and maintain a base of recurring donors

  • You want to build a fundraising program that raises more money, from more donors reliably

  • You want to steward donors in a way that turns first-time givers into mid-level donors, major donors, and legacy-leavers, but that sounds daunting

If you take an honest look at your fundraising, do any of these describe your situation?

Group 2236

You’re in financial maintenance mode

You’re not raising as much money as you think you could

Group 2236-1

Losing more donors than you’re gaining

And finding news ones is expensive

Group 2236

Lacking a pipeline for larger gifts

Not enough supporters are upgrading their gifts

The consequences?

You might be leaving your fundraising growth up to chance.

But your mission is way too important for that.

You need a support system to help you make your donors feel seen, heard, valued, connected—and inspired to give.

What could a solution look like?

There’s no “one size fits all” fundraising solution-in-a-box… but ideally:

  • It would have to be a solution that you can afford at your growth stage

  • Everything would be done using proven practices, by proven fundraisers, rooted in data, testing, and optimization

  • You would largely use the team, tech, and tools you already have

  • You wouldn’t have to do much to make it all happen, but…

  • It would be like adding a proven crew of fundraisers to your team—for less than the cost of hiring and training a qualified person that might move on in 1-2 years anyways

  • You would get to approve everything at every single step—without worrying about any of the project management, busy work, details, or dates

  • You wouldn’t have to train or manage anyone new

  • You would have peace of mind that your fundraising is in good hands, and be able to focus your time on mission-critical work

What if that solution existed?

What if we could take some of those problems off your desk—so you can get back to doing important mission work?

Look, we won’t pretend to have all the answers.

After all, the only fundraising experts are your donors.

And we’re not promising a magic bullet that will fix all your fundraising problems.

But we’ve created a system designed for non-profits who:

  1. Want to grow their revenue from individual donors
  2. Want donors to feel like an important part of the team
  3. Want to offload the busywork of creating effective appeals, newsletters, and email marketing so they can spend more time meeting personally with donors and building human, authentic, messy, 1:1 relationships with the wonderful humans who care about their cause
Our Process

Here’s How It Works

Our process for working with non-profits to raise more money, from more donors, more often

Step 1

Run a Fundraising Review

We begin by analyzing your entire fundraising program, including auditing your data, donor file, and your current fundraising activities. We also get a download of your programs, initiatives, outcomes, brand voice, and calendar.

Process- 1. Run a Fundraising Review
Process- 2. Create A Fundraising Plan
Step 2

Create A Fundraising Plan

Based on your planned activities, events, and goals, we create a proposed calendar for the next 12 months to listen, engage, ask, celebrate, and report back to your donors. Together with you, we finalize the plan—and begin executing!

Step 3

Design Core Offers

Over a series of “Offer Hours” (brainstorming sessions), we’ll help develop a suite of specific fundraising asks that we’ll use for your appeals and campaigns. As we begin working with you, we’ll test these offers to see what your donors are most interested in—and most likely to respond to.

Process- 3. Design Core Offers
Process- 4. Run Kick-Off Calls
Step 4

Run Kick-Off Calls

For each project in the Fundraising Plan, we’ll run a Kick-Off Call with your team to make sure we’re all on the same page when it comes to the offer, the timeline, the audience, and what we’re testing.

Step 5

Create Strategic Briefs

After the Kick-Off Call, you’ll get a detailed brief defining exactly what the appeal or newsletter will say, what the offer is, which donor segments will get the campaign, what we’re testing, what the key approval dates are, and more.

Process- 5. Create Strategic Briefs
Process- 6. Copy Approvals
Step 6

Copy Approvals

After you approve the Strategic Brief, we’ll write the appeal/newsletter/survey, email campaign, landing page, post-donation page, and thank you note—all for you to review and approve.

Step 7

Design Approval

Once you’ve approved the copy, we’ll design the appeal/newsletter/survey. And we’ll design all digital assets for your webpage and email campaign (hero image, banners, etc.).

Process- 7. Design Approvals
Process- 8. Data Prep
Step 8

Data Prep

We’ll request the mailing list from you, with instructions on how to pull the reports for the different segments. Then, we’ll calculate the gift ask amounts for each donor.

Step 9

Files Go To Print

Finally, we’ll get all the files prepped and ready to go to the printer.

Process- 9. Files Go To Print
Process- 10. Landing Page Review
Step 10

Landing Page Review

While the appeal is being printed, we’ll test and review your campaign landing page to make sure it’s optimized.

Step 11

Analyze Results

We’ll review the results of each appeal and newsletter carefully, and use the results to help us improve your fundraising in the future.

Process- 11. Analyze Results
Process- 12. Quarterly Fundraising Review
Step 12

Quarterly Fundraising Review

Once a quarter, we’ll evaluate where you’re at with your yearly fundraising goals—and set some time aside to course correct, if needed.

Step 13

Coaching and Training

Throughout the year, you’ll have bi-weekly strategy sessions with your dedicated Fundraising Strategist. Along the way, they’ll teach you everything we know. You can, of course, ask questions at any time. Help is never far away!

Process- 13. Coaching and Training

Since working with BuildGood, we’ve seen a 53% growth in revenue compared to last year. Not only did we raise more money from active donors, our lapsed donor reactivation is up by 119%, and our revenue from reactivated donors is up 144%.

You’ll ❤️ Having a Team in Your Corner

Group 2236-2

Your own dedicated Fundraising Strategist

Your main contact will be your Fundraising Strategist who will manage every aspect of our work with you. They’re always responsive via  email, and they’ll send you regular updates on where your projects are at.

Group 2236-1

Your projects = managed. Your mind = at peace.

We will project manage all of our work together—and keep everything on track, on time, and on budget! We’ll create production schedules, make sure the dates work for your team, and even (gently) remind you when things are due on your end.

Group 2236

Clear systems and processes for everything

Through trial and error, we’ve created systems and processes to make your life easier and your projects run seamlessly. Weekly updates emails? Check. Bi-weekly meetings? Check. Structured workflow? Check. You’re dealing with enough uncertainty—working with our team might just be the most predictable thing you’ll do all year.

What You’ll Do

You’ll have offloaded most of your work to us, but there’s still a few things you’ll need to do to raise as much money as possible.

You’ll need to:

  • Provide all raw content (interviews, stories, pictures, etc.)

  • Pull mailing lists and reports from your CRM (we’ll guide you)

  • Track results carefully and share the data with our team

  • Thank your donors well and invest in personal stewardship

  • Brainstorm ideas for fundraising offers and newsletter stories our team can help refine

The Result?

You’ll grow your impact—and finally feel confident about your fundraising.

You’ll breathe easier knowing you’re putting your best foot forward with your fundraising. Your donors will be more engaged. Their commitment to your organization will increase. You’ll raise more money in the long-term. And you’ll finally have the time to focus on the things only you can do: grow your mission.

We knew we had unlocked value in our donor file, but we needed some help and a strategy to encourage donors to make their best gift to our organization. BuildGood helped us create a mid-level donor program that focuses on personalized appeals with higher offers. Since working with the BuildGood team, we have often doubled our income from mid-level donor campaigns.
