He’s on a mission to help nonprofits build predictable fundraising success by focusing on donor needs, identities and values. He’s the host of The Build Good Fundraising Podcast and co-host of the Donor Growth podcast.

Janelle Duerksen

COO

Prior to joining BuildGood, Janelle was the Director of Operations for Manitoba’s largest food bank, helping the organization navigate rapid growth in revenue and demand for services during COVID-19. Janelle leads the administration and day-to-day operations of our team.

Becky Longhurst

Sr. Fundraising Strategist

Becky leads the relationships with clients and the development of fundraising campaigns. Prior to joining BuildGood, Becky focused on donor relations and stewardship at an international development organization. She holds a degree in Psychology, a diploma in Public Relations and a Certificate in Fundraising Copywriting from the Institute of Sustainable Philanthropy.

Her degree in Communication and certificate in Fundraising Copywriting are the foundation she uses to create radically human campaigns that move people to give. Prior to joining BuildGood, she worked with the largest homeless shelter in Edmonton, Alberta in various capacities for over a decade, and has gained a passion and enthusiasm for fundraising in her time there. She holds a Certificate in Fundraising Copywriting from the Institute of Sustainable Philanthropy and is in the process of completing her Certificate in Fundraising Management. .

Prior to BuildGood, Hannah worked in major gift fundraising and individual giving for an international development organization. She holds a degree in Arts and Contemporary Studies, with a focus on non-profit management. She always has a book, pen, or goal recommendation for you.

Carly Funk

Carly was the in-house designer for Manitoba’s largest homeless service provider, helping craft  multi-channel fundraising campaigns during a period of tremendous donor and revenue growth for the nonprofit. Since then she has worked for both corporate and nonprofit clients, designing direct-response campaigns and advertising campaigns that move people to action.
